Violence as a Threat in Society

Almost everyday in our lives we encounter media. In schools, in public places and even in our homes, media is present and because of this, I can say that media is much useful for us. But what if violence is seen in media by all the people that use it including the children that have curiosity in their minds? What will it result?

Nowadays, violence is too much exposed in media regardless of who can see it. Some find it interesting to watch but how about those who doesn't? We all know that this is improper for people to see especially the youth. That is why many people have questions in their minds and that is "how do we eliminate or lessen violence in media and how should we deal with it?". There is one thing that people can do in order to eliminate violence in media. That is by simply limiting the people of who will be able to view the content especially if it has violence, drugs and other inappropriate things. We should  promote parental guidance just like in the T.V. shows we  watch everyday. In this way, violence in media may not be eliminated but the number of the viewers may be lessen and that is the goal that we should aim.

Being a responsible media viewer is also one of the things we can do. Before we make a change in our society, we should start it within ourselves first. As responsible media users, we should know if the content of a particular program in media is appropriate to watch especially if we have children around us. In this way, we can be aware of the things that might happen if a person doesn't fully understand what he/she is watching especially the children. If all the people will cooperate to do this, our world might become a better place.

Communism

“The earth is the mother of all people, and all people should have equal rights upon it.” A pleasant day to all of you. Before I proceed, I would like to ask you a question. Do you know who Karl Marx is? Do you know one of his philosophies? Well, let me introduce him to you.

Karl Marx, a philosopher, social scientist, historian and revolutionary socialist is the most influential socialist thinker to emerge in the 19th century. Although he was largely ignored by scholars in his own lifetime, his social and political ideas gained rapid acceptance in the socialist movement after his death in 1883. Until quite recently almost half the population of the world lived under regimes that claim to be Marxist. This very success, however, has meant that the original ideas of Marx have often been modified and his meanings adapted to a great variety of political circumstances.

One of his philosophies is Communism. What is Communism? What is the goal of this philosophy? Communism is the philosophical and social ideology and movement whose ultimate goal is the establishment of the communist society, which is a socioeconomic order structured upon the common ownership and the absence of social classes, money, and the state. It leads to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs. Communism is not anti-individualist. However, it does say that decisions should be good for the population as a whole, instead of just being good for one or two people.

Now let us analyze his philosophy. Being a communist means that we, as a part of our society, should live our lives equally and as one. Generally speaking, if we have a certain thing, it should be the same as other people should have. Additionally, there shouldn’t be a division of a society based on social and economic status. We shouldn’t be controlled by money and there shouldn’t be an association which controls our territory. We, as a whole, should be the one who will manage and regulate the community we live in. In this way, no one will suffer from poverty in our country and that is the common goal that we should aim for. But nowadays, many people think only for themselves. They only think about how they will be successful in their lives. They aren’t able to think about the lives of other people. About how these people can manage to live every single day despite of living in poverty. How can our country grow if we have this mind set? This is what the communists are fighting for and if I were given a chance to choose between our current way of living and communism, I would rather choose communism to take place in my country. Why? Well, because presently, the rich becomes richer while the poor are becoming poorer as time goes by and I am not in favor of that. It is unfair for the people to live that way. Again, we, as a member of this community, should live and work as one in order to build a just and humane society.
That is the message that we should take with us as we continue to live our lives. That is my analysis about the philosophy of Karl Marx. Thank you for reading my analysis and I hope that I made you realize things in life. That will be all. Thank you.
